Liner Profiles

One of the most significant developments in steel clad buildings in the '80's was the inclusion of a steel liner to hold in place the insulation within a 'warm roof' built-up system. Cost effectiveness, simplicity and ease of installation are the sound reasons for its popularity. Euroclad roof liner sheets have been designed to match the cover widths of the external profiled sheets.

Euroclad recommends the use of standard 0.4mm gauges for wall systems and 0.7mm gauges for roof systems. Should there be a requirement for other gauges, please contact the Euroclad Sales Office for availability. Euroclad manufacture all liner sheets from lining enamel. The standard colour available is referred to as 'bright white'. Translucent sheets can be supplied to match all Euroclad liner sheets. Liners are also available as crimped, curved sections - giving huge flexibility of application to fit most requirements.

Euroclad liner sheets have been designed to span up to 2,000mm in 0.4mm gauge material. It should be noted that unlike other designs of liner which can gape significantly between purlins, correctly installed Euroclad liner sheets in standard 0.4mm gauge material will not encounter this problem, preventing the need for specification of 0.5mm and 0.55mm gauge material. Euroclad liner sheets, when fixed in accordance with our recommendations, meet the requirements of the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM).

BUILT UP SYSTEMS

One of the most significant developments in steel clad buildings in the 80's was the inclusion of a steel liner to hold in place the insulation within a 'warm roof' built-up system. Cost effectiveness, simplicity and ease of installation are the sound reasons for its popularity. Euroclad roof liner sheets have been designs to match the cover widths of the external profiled sheets. The standard industry gauge for liner sheets is 0.4mm, however 0.5mm, 0.7mm and 0.9mm gauges are also available.

CURVES

Trapezoidal profiles are available with crimped curves. For curved eaves and ridge details, all the trapezoidal profiles can be curved and 'barrel vault' self curving roofs may be accommodated subject to the profile dependant on the profile type and curve radius. All Euroclad roof profiles are handed with specific side lap details. Therefore, it is imperative that these are identified and installed correctly. Rooflights are available to match, or complement, all profiles in either translucent sheet, or barrel vault type systems.

NON FRAGILITY

  • A non-fragile assembly should be specified.
  • A competent company is chosen to carry out roof work.
  • The classification of the roof assembly can be confirmed by the supplier and that test data can be provided to support the classification.
  • Drawings are available which can be used to set out the sequence of operations to fit sheets to a non-fragile classification.
  • The conditions affecting guarantees of non-fragility should be clearly stated.
  • Special consideration should be given to Class C constructions.
  • Specific information relating to maintenance of the products and which is relevant to non-fragility is provided for inclusion in the Health and Safety file.
  • Materials handling should be reduced wherever possible i.e. by ordering sheets to be packed in sequence as they will be used or by splitting packs on the ground before positioning on the roof.
  • In addition the 'HSE Question and Answer brief' for the 'Construction industry on the work at height regulations 2005' states that "collective control measures should always take priority over personal control measures".
