Dartford Prologis
Designed by RPS Burks Green, the
distribution centre will be spread over three buildings covering
approximately 65,000m2. SF500 system was used to
roof all three buildings, manufactured from Corus Colorcoat
HPS200® pre-finished steel in Wedgewood Blue.
Trapezoidal and half-round profiles were chosen to clad the walls
because of their contemporary appearance and excellent
performance. "A lot of hard work and preparation has
culminated in the award of this project and we are delighted that
we can demonstrate our technical expertise, design and
manufacturing capabilities on such a grand scale." SF500 sheet
lengths of more than 80 metres long were installed on a Euro Bar
extra spacer system, to achieve a 0.25 U value BBA certified metal
roof construction.

Logix Park, Hinckley
Secret
fix roofing from Euroclad ensured superb performance and a cost
effective solution at a warehouse and distribution facility at
Logix Park, Hinckley, West Leicestershire. Over 35,000m2 of
the Secret fix system was installed at the new warehouse by
contractors Hathaway Roofing. Manufactured in Corus Colorcoat
HPS200® pre-finished steel, the system provides excellent drainage
and weatherability as the absence of end laps or external
penetrations eliminates potential leaks. Curved to a 50m
radius, the Goosewing Grey roof ensures a stylish, aesthetically
pleasing finish. Aluminium standing seam roofing was
originally proposed to accommodate the curved radius of the
roof. Euroclad Secret fix roofing was chosen instead as it
could save costs for the developer without compromising on quality
and system performance.

Forest Holiday Parks, Liskard & Scotland
At the picturesque Deerpark near
Liskeard in Cornwall, Forest Holidays have erected a large number
of holiday chalets. From the start these chalets had to be
sympathetic to the surrounding countryside yet comply with modern
standards in terms of performance and appearance. This site is both
a World Heritage site, as wells as a site of Specific Scienntific
Interest.
Architects, Terence O'Rouke were responsible for creating the
dwellings for the client, the recreational side of the Forestry
Commision. The brief stipulated that the buildings had to be
inconspicuous whilst at the same time reflecting a modern approach
to this type of property. The same design has been used for two
other sites belonging to the company in North Yorkshire and
Perthshire.

Sheffield Ice Arena
A £16M major development built to
world class standards, The International Centre of Excellence [ICE]
in Sheffield houses two Olympic-size ice skating rinks and a
multitude of first class facilities. The complex's crowning
glory, a 6,000m² roof with dramatic curves in the main slopes, had
to meet demanding performance requirements as the centre is located
in an area at risk of severe weather.
SF500 Secret Fix steel roof system, which features hidden
mechanical fixings was the ideal solution as it is able to
withstand very high wind loads while maintaining overall weather
tightness.
