Roof Liner

What is a metal roof liner?

Bright White Liner One if the most significant developments in steel clad buildings in the '80's was the inclusion of a steel liner to hold in place the insulation within a 'warm roof' built-up system. Cost effectiveness, simplicity and ease of installation are the sound reasons for its popularity. Euroclad roof liner sheets have been designed to match the cover widths of the external profiled sheets. The standard industry gauge for liner sheets is 0.4mm, however, 0.5mm,  0.7mm and 0.9mm gauges are also available. The Euroclad Sales Office should be contacted to advise upon availability.

Why choose a metal liner?

Bright White Liner There are several options in providing support for the insulation - a metal liner is normally used over a purlin arrangement. The alternative is to use a structural decking or structural liner sheet spanning between main rafters, eliminating the purlin. However, the purlin and liner sheet arrangement is often the most cost effective, and simplest system to construct.

Which liner?

Bright White Liner The Euroclad liner sheets have been designed to span up to 2,000mm in 0.4mm gauge material. It should be noted that certain designs of liner, offered by other manufacturers, which incorporate large flat areas between pitches, have gapped significantly between purlins. All of Euroclad's liner profiles are specifically designed to reduce gapping (sometimes know as 'bird-mouthing') of the side lap between purlins. As a result of such experiences, there has been a tendency for architects to specify 0.7mm. It is also common to select a 0.7mm steel gauge on larger schemes due to the enhanced non-fragility, which sometimes allows safety netting to be taken down prior to installation of the external sheet. Typically, 0.4mm gauge is used for all steel wall liner applications.

All Euroclad liner profiles are available curved, either self curved (please refer to Technical for self-curve parameters - as a rule of thumb 40m radius is the typical limit for self curved) or as crimped curved profiles for tighter radius roof sections or curved ridge/eaves.
