The load/span tables state in the summary of each profile section that the shaded areas are only suitable for foot traffic by one person using walking boards. Effectively this means that the performance is limited by stress.  The clear areas are limited by the deflection criteria i.e. the dead loads; live loads; service loads etc that would affect the performance and lead to the choice of profile and steel thickness relative to the spans.
